Habitat Home in Acton
This lot on Route 2A – across from Donelan’s plaza - has been purchased by Steve Steinberg to develop 26 condominiums that will include affordable units. He has also generously made it possible for Habitat to rehabilitate the existing house on the property.
Status and Schedule
- The entire development project has all its approvals and permits.
- Construction on the Habitat home begins in February and should be completed by summer.
- Process is underway to identify and select a family to work on and purchase the home.
- A local volunteer Habitat project committee has formed and is organizing the Acton effort.
What can you do?
There are several ways you can help make the project a success:
- Volunteers are needed to help organize publicity, liaise with churches/ temples, host construction days, plan fund-raising activities, and more.
- In-kind donations are greatly appreciated from area companies with vital construction skills and materials.
Assist in the planning of a fund-raising event or organize your own.
