WEST ACTON EATERY EXTENDS HOURS; NEW GATHERING SPOT FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS AND NON-PROFITS

WEST ACTON EATERY EXTENDS HOURS; NEW GATHERING SPOT FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS AND NON-PROFITS

September 17, 2012 - The Local Table, a lunch café that opened in 2011, has expanded its service to offer weekday breakfast, Saturday brunch, weekend dinners and live music on Saturday night.  The restaurant, renovated from a former deli, now features an open dining and bar area suitable for private groups to host parties or for non-profits who want to meet in the community.  The Acton Boxborough United Way Day of Caring breakfast for staff and volunteers will be hosted by The Local Table this Thursday morning.

The Local Table was opened by Acton resident Rose Saia to create a café/bistro that prepared simple and fresh seasonal meals.  She does business with local suppliers and selects local products whenever possible.  Her passion for food comes from her Italian heritage, “We enjoyed what was in season from my grandfather’s garden and never ate prepared foods that contained preservatives or artificial ingredients.” She applies her experience to The Local Table by serving all natural DNA traceable beef burgers (beef from one U.S. raised cow) which won The Acton Patch reader’s poll for Best Burger in Acton and bread from Iggy’s bakery in Cambridge, featured in brioche French toast during Saturday brunch.

A former high tech entrepreneur, volunteer and board member of non-profits, Rose designed the restaurant in a way that is suited to community organizations and non-profits as a place to meet and/or fundraise.  The new morning breakfast hours are ideal for early meetings as well as for locals who want a fresh egg sandwich and espresso.  “I thought Acton needed a neighborhood place that was more than just a pub,” said Rose, “with real support of the local area.”  This commitment can be seen by patrons as they stroll by the display of craft beers from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.

This Saturday night there will be an Open House offering free appetizers and discounts on beer and wine.

The restaurant is available for private parties as well as banquets, holiday gatherings or meetings. Catering is available with delivery for lunch or dinner.

Menus, specials, music schedule and hours can be found at www.LocalTable-Acton.com.

The Local Table is located at 251 Arlington Street, West Acton Village.  It is open weekdays at 7:30 AM and Saturday at 9AM for brunch. Dinner is served Thursday through Saturday evening starting at 5:30PM.  Rose can be reached at Rose@LocalTable-Acton.com.
