19-Year-Old Male Charged With OUI In Prospect Street Accident

The car accident is currently under investigation but charges have been made to the vehicle operator.

According to the Acton Police, 19-year-old Jacob Victor, of 10 Heather Hill Road, Acton, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor when he crashed his BMW into two telephone poles and a tree Tuesday night at 11:28 p.m. on Prospect Street, Acton. He was also charged with a marked lanes violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding the speed limit.

He had a female passenger that went to the hospital.

According to an electrician working on scene, the distance between telephone poles on Prospect Street is roughly 100 feet, and Victor initially hit one pole, slid into another, slammed into a tree roughly 50 feet away from the second pole and was jolted to the end of Prospect Street (heading toward Main Street).

The accident is currently under investigation.

After the accident, several businesses in the adjacent plaza . Acton Gas was also out of power. The road was opened around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, after the two telephone poles were replaced and the police took photographs for evidence.
