A Quick Look at How Local Athletes are Faring in College

Senior libero Ashley Norley (Sudbury, Mass.) was named Libero of the Week for the Commonwealth. Norley's defense has been a huge part of Endicott's game as the senior has amassed 514 digs on the season. For the week, Norley averaged 5.86 digs per set as she recorded the match high for digs in every match. Her week was highlighted by a 30 dig effort in the four set win over Tufts as well as a 28 dig performance in a five set loss to UMass Boston. Norley was able to achieve double-digit dig totals in every match and never recorded less than 13 during that stretch. Junior Hayley Brock scored in the 92nd minute to give the No. 6 University of Maryland women's soccer team a 3-2 overtime victory over No. 23 Boston College at the Newton Campus Lacrosse and Soccer Field.
The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team dropped a 2-1, double-overtime decision against Western Michigan on Wednesday night at Gettler Stadium. Cole DeNormandie (Lincoln-Sudbury) tallied an assist in the loss.
Southern Connecticut State University held off a second half rally from Stonehill College, ranked tenth in this week's National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II poll, for a 4-2 victory in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey action at Timothy J. Coughlin Memorial Field at W.B. Mason Stadium this evening. Senior Kaitlyn Curtis (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough) played the final 17:20.
The Williams women's field hockey team fell to Union, 2-1, in a heated overtime on Thursday night. The strong Williams offense, led by sophomore Caitlin Conlin (Sudbury, Mass.) consistently kept the ball in play on the Union side.
