Freshman Kati Goguen (Acton, Mass.) scored the game-tying goal just under three minutes into the third period as the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team came from behind to tie Saint Anselm, 2-2, in front of a raucous crowd of just over 850 fans on Friday evening at the Hart Center.
The nationally-ranked No.2 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team dug themselves out of a two-goal deficit to score six unanswered goals in a 6-2 win against No. 7 Yale at Ingalls Rink. Dan Federico (Acton, Mass.) had two assists in the win.
The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team suffered a 60-47 America East conference loss to Stony Brook University at Pritchard Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. Elizabeth Belanger (Acton, Mass.) had eight rebounds for UNH.
No. 4 WPI connected on seven of its last eight 3-point attempts of the first half as the Engineers won their 23rd straight game, defeating visiting Coast Guard 89-53 Saturday afternoon in Harrington Auditorium. Sam Longwell (Acton, Mass.) had 16 points in the win for WPI.
The Plymouth State University women's ice hockey team got back on the winning track Friday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over Saint Michael's College in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's East action at Cairns Arena. Emily Loebs (Acton, Mass.) registered an assist in the loss.
