Acton Residents Charged With Stealing from Cub Scouts

After an investigation, Acton police charged two residents with larceny over $250.

Two people, including the former treasurer of Acton Cub Scout Packs 1 and 70, have been charged with larceny and embezzlement following a police investigation, according to officials.

In September 2011, Acton Police began an investigation after receiving complaints of financial fraud. The investigation revealed that money was stolen from Pack 70 from November 2005 through April 2009, while money was taken from Pack 1 between April 2009 and July 2011.

Kimberly Clark, of Paul Revere Road, the former treasurer of Acton Cub Scout Packs 1 and 70, has been charged with larceny over $250 by single scheme and association officer embezzlement over $250. Kevin Clark, also of Paul Revere Road, has been charged with larceny over $250 by single scheme.

“Through the investigation, there was enough evidence to pursue the charges,” said Acton Police Lt. Ray Grey.

According to a statement from the Acton Police Dept, “during Kimberly Clark’s tenure as treasurer for both packs she made numerous withdrawals/drafts against both packs' checking accounts," the statement said. "These drafts were made in various forms; Checks made out to cash, checks made out to Kimberly for various reasons and checks made out to Kevin Clark.”
