Acton Teen Charged in Boxborough Car Accident

The following information was supplied by the Boxborough Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

On Wednesday, August 1, a 17-year-old girl operator from Acton and a 16-year-old boy passenger from Boxborough were flown to UMASS Worcester after their car hit a tree on Burroughs Road in Boxborough around 6:30 p.m.

The driver, Krista A. Jansen, now 18, of 5 Milldam Road, Acton has been charged with negligent operation of a vehicle, failure to keep right and speeding.

According to Boxborough Sgt. Brett Pelley, a member of the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) Collision Reconstruction Team, "Jansen's vehicle was 81.2 miles per hour when she lost control and struck a tree."

A complaint was filed with the Ayer District Court.

The conditions of Jansen and the other passenger is unknown.
