UPDATE: Fatal Crash on Route 2 West - 61 Year-Old West Townsend Man Dies
A 17 year-old female from Groton, crashed into a 61 year-old male from West Townsend. Male was pronounced dead.

According to the Massachusetts State Police, a fatal motor vehicle accident happened at approximately 6:51 p.m. State troopers from the Concord Barracks responded to the crash on Route 2 West – west of Wetherbee Street, Acton.
A 1993 Honda, operated by Kathryn McGuire, a 17 year-old female from Groton, crashed into a car that was in the breakdown lane - resulting in the death of 61 year-old Howard Stein, from West Townsend.

Stein was outside of his vehicle securing a load in his 1996 Ford pickup truck when McGuire stuck the vehicle and Stein. Both vehicles became entangled and a 57-year-old Ayer woman, a passenger in Stein’s truck, was not injured.
An investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Troop A is currently underway, with help from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. State Troopers are investigating whether solar glare contributed to the crash or not.
