Moms and Dads don’t have to go far to find free and low-cost solutions to summer boredom. There's lots to do right here in Acton!

Discovery and Science Museums, 177 Main Street, Acton
This summer, admission is free every Friday night! Starting at 4:30 p.m. from now until August 31, 2012, kids can explore, build and create in the Discovery Museum and find their inner scientists at the Science Museum.
The Drome, Acton’s Bowladrome, 257 Main Street, Acton
On Thursday afternoons from 3:00-5:00 p.m. this summer, arcade games will be half price. In addition, starting at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, games of bowling will cost $1 each. (Family bowling ends at 9:00 p.m. After that time, it’s 21+ for $1 bowling.)
NARA Park Free Summer Concert Series, 25 Ledge Rock Way, Acton
Free music has returned to NARA on Thursdays nights. Bring a blanket, picnic and enjoy the sounds of these popular groups:

Acton Memorial Library Summer Programs, 486 Main Street, Acton
The library has a number of fun programs taking place this summer. Tuesday night PJ Story Time at 7:00 p.m. for kids ages 3-7, Thursday Drop-In Craft Projects from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for ages 3-7, and Friday morning Drop-In Story Time at 10:30 a.m. for ages 3-7 are just a few of the weekly offerings.
Friday Morning Players are 5th through 8th graders who meet a 9:00 a.m. to rehearse a show that’s performed for the youngsters at Story Time. To participate, call the library at (978) 929-6655 and pre-register. Shows take place through August 10, 2012.
Friday Night Movie nights continue to be held monthly at 7:00 p.m. Summer dates are July 20, 2012 and August 17, 2012. Adults must accompany their children.
On Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., children may visit with Bo, a loveable therapy dog.
