Patch Picks: Where to Pick a Pumpkin

Pumpkin season has arrived.

 

Whether you're looking for the perfect pumpkin for to carve, decorate your home with or whip up into a pie, this week's Patch Picks selections have got plenty of bright orange orbs for you to choose from.

1. Mainstone Farm
Address: 103 Old Connecticut Path, Wayland
The buzz: Mainstone has a pumpkin patch, or you can buy a pre-picked pumpkin. The farm stand also offers fresh veggies and meat.

2. Pickard Farm
Address: 160 Great Road, Littleton

The buzz: Pick your own pumpkin right off the vine. The Pickard Farm pumpkin patch is near Kimball Farm Ice Cream Stand and Witch's Woods.

3. Hanson's Farm
Address: 20 Nixon Road, Framingham
The buzz: Hanson's Farm offers a large crop of pumpkins and gourdes, Native corn and corn stocks to help decorate for Halloween. There are also farm animals, hayrides and a corn maize.

4. Verrill Farm
Address: 11 Wheeler Road, Concord
The buzz: Plenty of pumpkins, mini pumpkins, gourdes and corn stalks to choose from. Verrill Farm owns 200 acres of land in both Sudbury and Concord and helps to create a rolling, wide-open space in this section of town.

5. Belkin Family Lookout Farm
Address: 89 South Pleasant St., Natick
The buzz: A giant pumpkin patch, plus apple trees if you haven't gotten your fix of fall's fruit. There are also farm animals and a myriad of kids' activities to take part in.
