Spruce Street Construction
A mix of business and residential developments will be on the corner of Spruce Street and Arlington Street.
Since mid summer, you may have noticed the once vacant lot at the end of Spruce Street next to Ernie's Auto Body turn into a construction site. And if you've been there recently, you may have noticed things moving quickly.
So what's being built?
The West Acton Trio, LCC, made up of three developers, Mark Roderick, Stephen Andrade and George Dedic, has owned that property since 2007 and just recently started to build a mix of business and residential developments.
Curbside on Spruce Street will be a mixed-use building of three commercial units on the first floor and three apartments above. Each commercial unit is approximately 700 square feet with a half bath. The apartments above are 1,500 square feet with two bedrooms and 1.5 baths, each with one parking space.
Behind the Spruce Street curbside development will be four single-family units, each with three bedrooms, 2.5 baths, two parking spaces and each with approximately 2,000 square feet.
The project is expected to be completed by spring of 2012.
"It was a long and difficult process to go through the Town of Acton, but we found that the town was mostly receptive and supportive of the project," said Mark Roderick, of West Acton Trio.

Thanks for the info! We've been wondering what has been going on here. Hoping for a restaurant/bar. Please no more banks, pizza places or spas/hair salons!!

Funny, I just asked this question a couple days ago - exciting! Very hopeful that it is something to look forward to - like food or drink!

So it sounds like everyone is hoping for a food & drink place. In an ideal world, what three businesses would you like to see there?

As much as I'd like to see a food/drink place move in, what could possibly go in to a space that's only 700 sq. feet and 1/2 bath?

Anything in 700sq/ft, if food, could at best be a coffee shop or take-out. Bummer. Patrick - in my dream, a gastro-pub (or any pub really) would be ideal. Nice place to grab a beer and relax - past 9pm!

maybe an ice cream shoppe? or perhaps a hot sausage shop a la Hot Doug's in chicago (http://hotdougs.com/default.htm)? west acton is definitely missing a place that offers good sushi, too! i second pete's comment re: pub!

Great project, I am providing the windows and doors for West Acton Trio. Very profressional group, everyone will be happy with the outcome of the building.
