Two Acton Residents Arrested Over Weekend on Drug Charges
The following arrest information was supplied by the Acton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
(The following is a press release from the Acton Police Department.)
As the result of an extensive investigation into the distribution of narcotics a search warrant was executed at an apartment on Great Road. Detectives seized a large amount of prescription pain medications and cash during the search.
The following individuals were arrested and charged:
Kenneth E. Brown, age 25, of Acton was charged with Possession of a Class B Narcotic with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Class B Substance and Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Laws.
Jessica L. Brodeur, age 24, of Acton was charged with Possession of a Class B Narcotics with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Class B Substance and Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Laws.
Both Brown and Brodeur were held over the weekend on bail and will be arraigned at the Concord District Court on 12-31-12.
The investigation was conducted by the recently created Drug Unit. The unit contains one Sergeant and one Detective. The Drug Unit’s mission is the suppression of illegal narcotics activities and related crimes in the community.
Over the past year the Police Department has seen a significant rise in drug related tragedies and criminal activity fueled by the need to support a drug addiction.
The police department can’t solve this problem alone. Do not assume the police already know about the activity. Information can be reported anonymously to a member of the Drug Unit at 978-264-9640.

After signing written confessions they were both transfered to State Prisons on Monday and will face sentencing in end of January. Both are facing possible long sentences.

Melissa- I believe the women in this case recieved bail recently and the male is currently in jail. My oldest son is familiar with this case as his best friend told him the women is in an undisclosed location for her protection. I can only assume she is working with the police- which is in her best interest for her safety. I hope there is a lesson learned from this situation, and no harm done to both parties. God Bless. And I hope this answers your question

To set your mind at rest. This arrest did not happen at Iris Court area. It was on Great Road. My daughter happens to live in the apartment next to one where the bust took place and we happened to walk into the middle of it when leaving my daughter's apartment.
We are lucky that the Police are taking some of the situations in Acton more seriously and that we now have a Drug Unit in Acton. Can we all work together to make Acton (and other towns) a safer place to live.
