VIDEO: Local Residents Occupy Acton's Kelly's Corner
Several people from Acton and surrounding towns, including Concord, Boxborough, Carlisle, Harvard and Ashland, came together to support the Occupy movement.
Thursday - The 99 percent Occupy movement that has swept many cities across the country has branched into the suburbs. A couple dozen local residents stood on the sidewalks of Kelly's Corner to protest economic inequality. The protest took place from 4 to 6 p.m.
According to Acton resident, Debra Simes, "Thursday, November 17, is a massive day of action to show that 'We Are The 99%' in cities and towns across the country. Our local action reinforces the message that the concerns of the 99% will not go away with sweeps of Occupy sites across the country. The 99% actions may morph and change, but the message persists and will not be swept away. We reject a system that is inherently unjust and corrupt; that works for the 1% and exploits the 99%; and that consolidates power in the hands of the privileged few."
Editor's Note: I interviewed many of you but did not use each interview. This was mainly because of sound and sight issues. It was very close to a loud road and when the sun set, the camera barley captured images. My apologies.
