The 2013 Acton-Boxborough Colonials basketball team entered the season with only five returning players from the 2012 squad. The team was led by Captains Billy Jackman, Joe Euele and Tyler Billings. With a lack of experience, big men, and six underclassmen on the team, the team was inconsistent throughout much of the 2013 season; the team had flashes of greatness but struggled to have a consistency to its good play. The team ended with a 9-12 record (5-3 in Dual County League Large play). The DCL record was good enough for a tie for 2nd place in the DCL with Newton South. The team entered the MIAA North Division 1 Tournament with the 15th seed and lost to second seeded Lowell in the first round with a score of 55-32. The team played well in the beginning holding Lowell to just 7 points in the first quarter. However, the 2nd quarter was the difference - Lowell made a 17-5 and never looked back. Though the 2013 team was tough, rebuilding year, the future of AB basketball looks good as the team will have seven returning players for next year.
