When moving out to a new area there are two places you should locate first, a good liquor store, and a good pizza place. First, when you're in the moving process, you'll be wanting food. More than likely your kitchen will not be stocked, and you won't have the time to cook. Pizza is usually easiest, it's simple, and it's quick to eat. If you're going to be lucky enough to have friends help you move, a few pizzas are cheap enough and a few varieties shouldn’t be hard to get for even the most finicky tastes, and very good bribery, besides who doesn't like pizza?
So far we've experienced Great Road Pizza, (on Great Road, duh) and the advertising savvy of TC Landos. I'm not knocking, or neglecting any other places out there, it's just what we've tried so far. Great Road Pizza is like the typical New England pizza/sub shop. Some booths, and the usual menu items, pizza’s, subs, salads, etc. Cheap, easy and delicious, with plenty of choices of toppings. Not bad at all.
TC Lando's, is a whole nother thing. The menu is expansive, yes they do have the usual menu items like subs, and pizza. But the variations of each is huge. Yes their TV ads can be considered cute by some, and bad by others, but it's advertising. We’ve yet to be let down by them, however the downside is every time I go in, even to pickup an order, it's a little busy, but most businesses would love this problem! Its quite a small place, no real seating, put 3 people in there placing orders, I've been in elevators less crowded. The lines move quickly though, so you won’t be there long.
Thankfully in new England we have a huge population of Italian and Greek immigrants (the two ethnicities that seem to dominate the pizza making business) and there is no shortage of pizza places that aren't run by some business conglormates. As I said before, this isn't "the best" of Acton's pizza places, these places are great! This is just our experiences with them & we're always looking for more!

Wendy,
You're right, a Grocery Store and Hair Salon/Barber is very important, and I'll be covering them in upcoming blogs!
