Acton's Fitzgerald Piano

Acton Historical Society presents a small concert and a discussion about Acton's most famous musical instrument.  The Fitzgerald Piano was given to the new Acton High School in 1926 by former Boston mayor and congressman John "Honey Fitz" Fitzgerald and his wife Mary Josephine (Hannon.)

Ed Rosser, Music Director of the South Acton Congregational Church, will play the piano.  Bill Klauer of the Society will discuss the Fitzgeralds' connection to Acton and to President John F. Kennedy.

Located next to the Town Hall, the Acton Memorial Library was given to the town in 1890 by William Allan Wilde, in honor of the Civil War Veterans. The library offers computers, free wireless access, and 132,000 books, 20,000 audiovisual materials, and 220 periodical catalogs.
