Against the Tide, an annual family-friendly fundraising event to benefit the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition, will be held from 7 a.m. to noon. Saturday, Aug. 17 at DCR’s Nickerson State Park.
The coalition works to reduce toxic chemicals in the environment, which research shows are linked to the dramatic rise in the incidence of breast cancer.
Guests can choose from several different activities: a competitive and recreational 1-mile swim, 2-mile kayak, 3-mile walk, 5K run, 10K run and an Aquathlon consisting of a competitive 1-mile swim and a choice of a competitive 5K or 10K run.
