A Little Pumpkin Science This Halloween in Acton?

We've got five things you need to see, do and know on Oct. 31 in Acton.

1. It's Halloween! Which means many families around town will send out their little costumed creepers and characters out in search of candy. In the meantime, you can brush up on the holiday's history here

2. Today in Public Meetings: There are no public meetings scheduled tonight due to Halloween.

3. ICYMI: In case you missed it, the Massachusetts State Police will hold a Sobriety Checkpoint this weekend in Middlesex County.

4. Make a MESS: Pumpkin Take ApartsBefore it's time to trick-or-treat, you can drop by the Discovery Museums at 10 a.m. to explore the different parts of a pumpkin with the The Make a MESS (Math, Engineering, Science, & Stuff) program series Get the details here.

5. Today's Weather: Spooky clouds are still with us. Peek-a-boo sun and a mild, ghastly southerly wind developing in the afternoon. Passing shower possible, but many dry hours. Highs in the low 60s! Mid/upper 50s for the little little ghosts and goblins! Hold on to those bags of candy in the wind.
