A-B United Way's Day of Caring is Today

We've got five things you need to see, do and know on Sept. 19 in Acton.

1. A-B United Way's Day of Caring: More than 50 volunteers from local businesses, high schools and the Acton-Boxborough United Way will rally to support eight local project sites today. Click here for the details on the Day of Caring.

2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include the Acton Community Housing Corporation at 7 p.m., the Cable Advisory Committee at 7:30 p.m., the Economic Development Committee at 7:30 p.m., the Historic District Commission at 8 p.m., the Acton/Acton-Boxborough School Committees' Policy Subcommittee at 9:30 a.m., the Acton-Boxborough Transitional School Committee (ABTSC) and Acton Public School Committee (APSC) Meeting at 7 p.m. and the South Acton Train Station Advisory Committee at 7:30 p.m.

4. International Talk Like A Pirate DayToday, Sept. 19, is International Talk Like a Pirate Day, and you can celebrate it at the Discovery Museum where they'll have activities to learn pirate lingo and to make eye patches. Get the details here

5. Sunny Day, Warm Night: Should be mostly sunny today, with a high in the high 70s, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts a clear evening with lows in the 50s.
