Acme Theater Opens 2013-2014 season with Norm Foster Comedy

Coming up at Acme Theater on weekends through October 5 is the surprisingly sweet, tongue-in-cheek, sanitized sex comedy, “Skin Flick,” written by Norm Foster. Don’t be afraid of the title – this is a hugely entertaining comedy that won’t make you blush – but it will make you laugh.

An extremely prolific Canadian writer, Foster has had more than forty plays produced on professional stages. Frequently compared to American playwright Neil Simon, Foster pens plays that are known for their humor, accessibility and insight into the everyday tribulations of life.

“Skin Flick” is about a couple with financial troubles who stumble upon the idea of filming an adult movie to make ends meet. It’s a tender, lovable story about four innocent people caught in the headlights of making an adult film. The characters’ shock and discomfort, as well as in the way in which the playwright uniquely tells the story via a charming narrator who speaks directly to the audience, all add up to pure fun.
