Acton-Boxborough Cultural Council Sculpture Installed at NARA Park

The Acton Boxborough Cultural Council are happy to announce the installation of a sculpture in the wetlands area at NARA Park in Acton last week.

The sculpture, created by Maynard artist Carolyn Wirth and fabricated by sculptor Joyce Audy Zarins of Amesbury, is made from recycled mild steel and represents some of the wildlife that inhabits the park.

This sculpture is a continuation of the ABCC’s program “The Art of Recycling” which commenced in 2010.

The ABCC appreciates the assistance of Recreation Director Cathy Fochtman and Conservation Director Tom Tidman to help find the perfect location and Shawn O’Malley of the Natural Resources Department who prepared the site for installation of the sculpture.

Due to unpredictable weather at this time of year, the Acton-Boxborough Cultural Council will host a ceremony at NARA Park to present the sculpture to the Town of Acton in the Spring of 2014.  Please go to our website, actonboxboroughculturalcouncil.org, for updates on this, and other ABCC events.
