Celebrating National Adult Day Services Week
Cooperative Elder Services, Inc. in Concord will be celebrating National Adult Day Services Week from September 15-21. There are over 5,000 Adult Day centers in the U.S. today, providing care and support for 260,000 seniors and their family caregivers. National Adult Day Services Week was first proclaimed in September of 1983 by President Reagan to raise awareness. Thirty years later, Adult Day providers continue to be leaders in community-based care, improving quality of life and helping seniors age well in place. Located at 7 Chamberlin Drive in Concord, Cooperative Elder Services offers a safe and welcoming day-time environment, socialization with peers and meaningful activities. On a daily basis, the program includes a light breakfast, full hot lunch and afternoon snack, nursing care, social services and door-to-door transportation from over 10 local communities.
