Two Acton Residents Graduate From The Rivers School

WESTON, MA—Two Acton residents were among 90 students to graduate from The Rivers School in Weston on Friday, June 13.

Jessica P. Hedison, a high honor roll student, was an independent, thoughtful, and kind presence on campus. Jessica shared her enthusiasm and school spirit as a Red Key tour guide, Service Council member, and member of the JV hockey and tennis teams.With a strong commitment to community service, she accompanied classmates on a service trip to New Orleans. Outside Rivers, Jessica helped organize a “Relay for Life” to benefit the American Cancer Society, raising more than $3,000 during the event.  The daughter of Harry and Amy Hedison, she will attend Pitzer College in the fall.

A high honor roll student who was named a scholar athlete at the annual varsity awards ceremony, Andrew J. Kaufmann was an active and visible member of the Rivers community. As a Red Key tour guide he touched visiting families, as a student advisor he was a role model for younger students, as captain of the basketball team he led by example through hard work and dedication, and as a member of Rivers Givers he displayed a deep caring for others. His maturity earned him the respect of students and faculty alike and earned him the coveted Jeremiah J. Sheehan Prize on Prize Day. The son of Glen and Donna Kaufmann, he will attend Swarthmore College in the fall.
