Acton Youths Graduate from Public Safety Academy

161 kids from four different towns were recognized on Aug. 9.

Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian recently recognized the Acton graduates of the 2013 Middlesex Sheriff’s Office Youth Public Safety Academy (YPSA) on Aug. 9.

The ceremony honored 161 area children, ages 9 to 11 years old, and was held at the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office Training Academy in Billerica. This completed the fourth week of the free Academy, now in its 14th year.

“The Academy is a great opportunity for children from across Middlesex County to learn important safety tips, get to know their local public safety officials and have an enjoyable time while doing it,” said Koutoujian in a statement. “It also provides us with a chance to introduce children, their parents and guardians to the hardworking men and women of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office.”
