Acton Ranked One of Safest Communities in Mass.
The Safewise.com list highlighted Acton's low crime rate and child-friendly venues.
Acton was ranked No. 40 on a recent list of the 50 safest communities in Massachusetts.
The Safewise.com list, released last week, highlighted Acton's low crime rate and child-friendly venues. Safewise is a home security review resource.
Sudbury earned the top spot on the list.
"Acton is the kind of place where you’ll enjoy chatting with friends at neighborhood parties and kids can still safely play outdoors," the report found. "And don’t be surprised if your toddler begs for a trip to the newly renovated Goward Playground. Adjacent to the Acton Memorial Library, Friends of the Playground raised more than $66,000 to give the playground a facelift."
Safewise.com reported the following statistics for Acton:
- Violent crimes per 1,000 residents: 1.03
- Property crimes per 1,000 residents: 10.78
