T-Storms Knock Out Power in Acton

More thunderstorms were in the forecast for Wednesday.

Powerful thunderstorms barreled through Acton Tuesday, knocking out power to a small portion of town.

The storm drenched the town but caused little damage. Minor outages were reported in Acton on NSTAR's live outage map. The company said power should be back online by 8 p.m.

More thunderstorms were in the forecast for Wednesday. Here's the National Weather Service's forecast for Acton for the rest of the week:

  • Tuesday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog after 8pm. Low around 70. South wind 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Wednesday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 5pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Patchy fog before 2pm. High near 77. Southwest wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
  • Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Northwest wind 3 to 8 mph.
  • Friday: Sunny, with a high near 81.
