Acton Ford Certified to Sell Electric Vehicles

Local dealership is among 350 Ford dealers newly certified to sell plug-in electrified vehicles.

Have you thought about going green but weren't sure where to start? Well, if starting with your car is the way you want to go, Acton Ford can help.

Strong demand for Ford’s three new plug-in vehicles has Ford certifying hundreds more dealers to sell them than expected – including Acton’s own Acton Ford Inc.

Ford says according to recent sales studies, customers are choosing hybrids and electric vehicles, further strengthening the case for dealerships to certify. In fact, Ford delivered a record January hybrid sales month, following a record-breaking electrified vehicle sales quarter in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Wtih its certification, Acton Ford can now sell Focus Electric, C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid and Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid. Certification isn’t necessary for a Ford dealer to sell C-MAX Hybrid and Fusion Hybrid.

David Abatsis, CEO at Acton Ford Inc., said in a release the dealership went through the certification process in the second quarter of 2012 – in anticipation of vehicles such as C-MAX Energi. He said the process has been worth it, especially when it comes to providing the best customer service possible.

“We feel very confident that our sales staff are able to answer questions about each of these vehicles,” said Abatsis. “That’s important, because customers want to learn as much about these vehicles as possible in order to make an informed decision.”
