Mcdonalds #1 for kids

Ha! Yup, first thing I thought, need to change the title to "Best sit-down kid friendly ..."
Patrick Clark (Editor) March 19, 2012 at 01:56 PM
McDonald's has been added.

Kid friendly to me encompasses atmosphere and nutritional options . . . McDonalds has the atmosphere but . . .

O'Naturals was the best, too bad it's gone.

Yikes. Thanks Tom!

The number of bad restaurants in Acton is amazing. Why is that?
Patrick Clark (Editor) March 19, 2012 at 10:49 PM
Hey Chris, do elaborate.

I know it's not on the list, but Twin Seafood on Mass Ave in West Acton sells fresh, high quality seafood to take home and cook, and it also sells excellent seafood dishes cooked on the premises. I guess it's not a formal restaurant, but you can get a fresh, delicious, healthy lunch at Twin Seafood on a sunny day and go across the street with the kids to eat, relax, and watch the kids play.

Elaborate...OK. I want to be polite to the restaurants. McDonalds is only #1 for kids if you don't care what your kids eat. If they're on this list might as well add Subway and Dunkin Donuts too. If we're going to include those kind of places, Acton has lots of pizza places and sub shops, although I note that the two best (TC Lando's and Sorrento's) are not on your list. For anything a bit nicer, I find I go somewhere else - Concord, Lexington, Arlington, Southborough (Tomasso's in Southborough is amazing). Even Maynard has some decent places (Cast Iron Kitchen is good, although it seems to be going downhill). NYAJ's is OK for what it is, a small chain competing with Applebees and TGIFridays, but it's still a chain, and hardly anything amazing. Best thing is it is open kind of late - try finding anything else in Acton open at 9PM. I do enjoy the scene at Twin Seafoods on a busy night. Good food, and BYOB. I'm holding out hope for the burrito place.

Thanks for the insight, Chris.

I agree with Chris in some ways. I think that pizza places are the most kid friendly, and Subway is pretty kid friendly also, because it is very casual and has healthier options than McDonald's.

I agree with Chris. after 9 is a scary time to be hungry. One underrated option is The Local Table, despite having very limited hours, its now our go-to for a bite out (late on the week at least). Good burger and beer on tap, makes me happy.
