According to Faith Pulis, The Thoreau Club’s President, the goal of the partnership with Maya Acupuncture is to provide access to health and wellness knowledge that goes beyond tennis, fitness and swimming. Individuals can get the care of their choice for pain relief and nutrition counseling.

Maya Chaudhuri, M.Ac., Lic.Ac., Dipl.CHIM, works in tandem with the club’s experienced personal trainers and massage therapists to provide acupuncture, long term health and wellness guidance. She specializes in women's health and sports performance rejuvenation. In addition to having a Masters in Acupuncture, she is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine and is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

“It’s important to fully understand the Western medical background of my patients before we begin an Oriental medical treatment” she says, “and having the combined knowledge of a patient’s personal trainer and massage therapist from The Thoreau Club will make the most efficacious treatment strategy.”

Layering this robust health knowledge with the goals and needs of each individual, we can help people heal, gain strength and be healthy and confident about their body.
