Circle Furniture works with Household Goods Recycling of Massachusetts to help people make homes

Circle Furniture teams with HGRM to pick up donations from Boston College graduates

Following the end of the 2014 academic year, Circle Furniture helped the Household Goods Recycling of Massachusetts (HGRM) with its BC Clean donation collection efforts at Boston College (BC). HGRM has been helping BC clear student residence halls of furniture and household items in good condition for redistribution to families in need since 2011. Richard Tubman, owner of the local furniture retailer, and his crew donated their truck and time to assist with this year’s collection on Monday, May 19th. These student donations are critical since they serve as a major supplier of the organization’s goods and allow HGRM to distribute needed items year-round.

HGRM is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to accepting and distributing donated, recycled household goods free of charge to individuals and families in need. What began in 1990 out of the garage of Ira and Barbara Smith, has grown to become a full-blown furniture bank and an organization helping thousands who need assistance rebuilding their lives.

In addition to helping HGRM with the BC Clean, Circle Furniture takes old furniture from customers’ homes year-round and donates the pieces to this cause. “We know how important it is to have a place to call home,” said Tubman. “And that’s why we team up with HGRM. As a part of the community, it’s our responsibility to help our neighbors create the homes that they deserve.”

All year long, HGRM accepts donations of furniture and house hold items in good condition, and then redistributes them to families in need at no additional charge. If you are interested in donating, consider calling HGRM at 978-635-1710 or visit their website www.hgrm.org.
