Digital Billboards Promote MEMA Emergency Preparedness Initiative

Clear Channel Outdoor has donated digital billboard space to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) to promote the importance of emergency preparedness.  The digital billboard messages are promoting MEMA’s “Ready Massachusetts” campaign to inform and educate people on the importance of being prepared for emergencies.

“Ready Massachusetts” is a MEMA initiative designed to educate and empower residents of Massachusetts to prepare for and respond to, emergencies including natural, technological and man-made disasters.  Clear Channel Outdoor partners with MEMA to utilize its digital technology to provide real-time emergency information to the public.  This entire month, digital billboards on Route 93 in Medford and Stoneham, and on Route 495 in Lawrence, are promoting the importance of preparedness in helping to save lives when disaster strikes.

“Clear Channel continues to invest in its partnership ‎with the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. This month, which is Preparedness Month, Clear Channel's outdoor digital billboards are providing a great tool to get our emergency preparedness message to the public, “  said Massachusetts Emergency Management Director Kurt Schwartz. “Their partnership with MEMA allows us to reach many residents with key preparedness messages as well as critical information during emergencies.”

MEMA is also providing emergency preparedness tips on the agency’s Twitter and Facebook accounts to promote Massachusetts Emergency Preparedness Month.  The “Ready Massachusetts” campaign asks individuals to do four basic yet critical things to prepare for emergencies: be informed by knowing what emergencies may occur, make a plan for your family before an emergency, build an emergency kit and get involved in community preparedness and response activities.
