Not certain yet whether Acton schools are open tomorrow, but while we determine that, here's a further note, from the Acton Schools website: 

From the Superintendent: If power is out for a large number of Acton and Boxborough residents on Tuesday 10/30/12, a decision will be made by 1:00pm whether free dinner, hot showers and internet access will be available from 6:00pm—8:30pm at the High School on Tuesday. These services will not be available on Monday, 10/29/12.

According to tweets, Route 2 west is CLOSED from Sudbury Road to Walden Pond due to a tree and wires down.

Update, 3:35 p.m.

Here are some updates from the town's website:

Arlington Street at Newtown, a tree is down, wrapped in live wires, making the road impassable. Awaiting NStar.

Central St (~#117): Railroad crossing gates stuck down.

Kinsley Road: two trees down in wires, wires 15 feet above street level.

195 in Town without power.

Update, 10:42 a.m.: From the town website: Medication refrigeration services are being offered for those displaced by the storm by the Acton Nursing Dept. Please call 978-929-6650 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for more information.

Updates:

Schools are closed today in Acton. A decision on whether to hold school on Tuesday will be announced likely Monday afternoon.

Monday's public meetings in Acton have been postponed.

Town offices will operate with a skeletal staff, according to the town website, however all emergency departments will be fully staffed.
