Healthy Living 101

Have you made a resolution to be healthier this year?

How many of us make New Years Resolutions but don’t see them out for more than a few weeks?  We want to loose weight, give up smoking, exercise more or do something else to make us healthier – right?

It is common for many if not most new years resolutions to slide down this slope.  This is because it takes time and support to change old habits.

If you TRULY want to find a healthier you this year, consider giving yourself a gift and come get healthy with us!    It has been demonstrated that to make real and sustainable change, one must maintain certain habits over a 6 month period.  Consistency is the key!

South Acton Congregational Church is sponsoring a group program, Healthy Living  101 that is geared toward slow and steady shifts in some of our self destructive habits and changing them to productive self-care habits.  This is a 6-month program designed to support those who want to find more clarity, energy and enthusiasm for living a radiantly healthy life.  The program is based on the idea that eating healthy – although vitally important -is just the beginning.  Full and radiant health is about finding power in your all areas of your life – your career, relationships, spirituality, exercise routine AND diet.

This ongoing program meets twice monthly to discuss diet along with other ways of nourishing our lives.  It is a 6-month program, with different topics covered each month.  Enrollment is rolling, so you can join at any time. It will include a personal investment of time, money and energy, but I guarantee this will be worthwhile  - for what is more important than YOU?  The world would be a much better place If we put our own health and well-being at the forefront of our priority lists.

This group which began last fall, meets from 7:30-9:00pm, the first and third Mondays of each month.  It is held at the South Acton Congregational Church, 35 School St, Acton.  The cost is on a sliding scale basis from $20-50./month and all proceeds are donated to the church.  The next January meeting will be held on January 21. The group is run by Linsey Hurley, Certified Holistic Health Coach.   For more information, contact Linsey directly at 978-273-7997 or linsey@newview.org.
