On March
23rd 2014, First Parish in Concord presents SEEING DOUBLE, marking the duo’s first Boston area appearance.

SEEING DOUBLE proves that the music of two violins can be much more than the sum of its parts! The audience will be taken on a journey through the serene baroque style of Georg Telemann, the lush Hungarian folk melodies of Miklos Rosza, the carefree bluegrass tunes of Mark O'Connor, the raw beauty of Prokofiev and the jazzy swing of Mark Summer.

Longtime friends Sarah and Julia began performing duo violin concerts while studying together at the University of Michigan. Though currently residing on opposite coasts, Sarah and Julia continue to perform together. This extraordinary opportunity to hear them in concert is not to be missed!

Julia Salerno grew up in Walla Walla, Washington. She studied at the University of Michigan and the University of Southern California. Currently she teaches violin and viola at Eastern Washington University while maintaining a large private studio in the greater Spokane area.

Sarah Whitney, an alumna of Concord-Carlisle High School, studied violin at the
New England Conservatory and was concertmaster of the Greater Boston Youth
Symphony Orchestra. She continued her musical studies at the University of
Michigan and the leveland Institute of Music before moving to New York City to
play with the acclaimed genre-bending string quintet Sybarite5. Her parents
Alan and Lois Whitney live in Concord and Sarah returns frequently to perform in
the area.
