Feed and be Fed at The Local Table in Acton

As the West Acton restaurant announces its 'Buy a Meal, Give a Meal' program.

Shoppers aren’t the only ones getting swept up in the holiday spirit. In Acton, it extends to diners as well.

West Acton restaurant The Local Table is introducing a "Buy a Meal, Give a Meal” program, which will donate meals to Acton’s community supper in a 1:1 match for adult meals purchased during dinners on Thursdays and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

According to a press release, people who dine at The Local Tale at one of those designated service times just need to tell their server that they’re a part of the “Buy a Meal, Give a Meal” program, and the server will taker their first name and email address so a confirmation email can be sent.

“I wanted to provide meals for community supper at times of the year when there is less community involvement or awareness of the need to help those living on a limited income,” Local Table owner Rose Saia said in a press release. “I wanted The Local Table to give to community supper every month, but we need to increase our business to do so. This program seemed like a great way to accomplish this.”

The Local Table’s monthly goal for the program is to provide about 80 meals for one community supper each month.

Accordingly, each time a person naming the Buy a Meal, Give a Meal program dines at The Local Table during the set service times—which, again, are dinnertime on Thursday and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays—his or her meal will count toward one meal for the community supper during that calendar month.

The plan for the program, according to the press release, is “for it to become a sustainable model to support community supper.” And, potentially, to become a model to be replicated in other communities.

Further, as a special incentive during the month of December, any holiday catering order of $100 or more will credit toward 5 meals for community supper.

The Local Table is located at 251 Arlington Street, West Acton. Menus and full hours of operation can be found at www.LocalTable-Acton.com. Questions or information about the program can be given to Rose Saia, (978) 263-8743, Rose@LocalTable-Acton.com.
