Red Raven Flies on Sunday

When the 300-plus seat gastropub opens Nov. 24 at Nagog Park, you'll be able to 'murder' your burger with house-cured bacon, sunny duck egg and foie gras.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, people all over have bird on the brain. And that may ring even truer here in Acton, where the Red Raven gastropub has plans to open

According to the Red Raven's website, the restaurant will open with its pub menu beginning Sunday, Nov. 24, while the bistro menu will launch Dec. 10. Says the site

We want to thank everyone for all of your support and patience over the last 4 months! We are just about there and have decided to open Sunday, Nov. 24. This is a soft opening, so we will be serving our Pub Menu daily from 11:30-10 p.m. and our Lunch additions. The Bistro menu will launch on Dec. 10 and reservations can be made for after that date.

Located at 3 Nagog Park, Red Raven will be a 300-plus seat gastropub in the waterfront building that used to house ScupperJack's.

Husband and wife team Jenifer and John Apazidis will co-own the restaurant, while chef Josh Buehler -- formerly of KO Prime and Eastern Standard -- will helm the kitchen.

The pub menu, which will be available during the soft open, features a selection of house-made sausages, sesame short rib tacos, savory flatbreads with confit meats and sunny duck eggs, homemade corn dogs and more.

And when the bistro menu launches Dec. 10, it will include, starters like grilled marrow bones with corned beef tongue, roasted baby beets salad and main courses like the "Raven Chop," a bone-in ribeye with marrow bone, herbed roasted baby potatoes & carrots, fresh horseradish and steak sauce.

“The idea is to create elevated American cuisine from a scratch kitchen while supporting local businesses and growers,” Jen Apazidis told Patch earlier this fall. “Everything I’ve ever not liked about a restaurant, we’ll be doing it the opposite way.”
