Common Core and PARCC in Acton and Boxborough Schools

On Monday, June 16 there was an Informational Forum on Common Core at the Gates School.  There was an excellent turnout, many questions, and discussion that continued out in the parking lot until about 10:30 pm.  However, many parents could not attend.  The entire forum is now available for viewing on Acton TV. 

Please take some time to watch this at your convenience before NEXT weeks School Committee meeting (6/24) when they will be voting to adopt Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Career (PARCC = new testing to replace MCAS).

If you do not want to lose more control of our school system to the State (with undefined MASSIVE increase in costs to taxpayers) and you believe in quality education, then you need to voice your opinion to the School Committee and your Principals.  Tell them that you want to keep MCAS and reject PARCC.
