Former Acton Resident Bob Jodka, Theater Star, Director, Dies at 66

He also loved baseball and gardening.

The following obituary is from Acton Funeral Home:

Robert “Bob” Jodka of Lunenburg, formerly of Acton, passed away July 8th at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born October 20, 1947, in Lawrence, the son of Gertrude (Harnedy) and the late Albin, he was raised in Ayer. Beloved husband of 46 years to Sarah (Tinker), the loving father of Aaron, Emily, and Libby, and dear grandfather of Ryann and Reese. Brother of Richard, his twin Sharon Carpenter, Thomas, and Jonathan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. With a lifelong passion for theater and music, Bob participated in many local theater productions. From the star to the director, he could play any role. His multiple film credits include “School Ties” and “The Wayfarers,” amongst others. His joy in the outdoors and nature could be clearly seen in his gardens, but he was just as comfortable inside, playing pool at The Pleasant Cafe. Bob's love of baseball was passed down to his three children, and he could be found enjoying many of their baseball and softball games. He will be greatly missed.

Friends and family are invited to gather and share remembrances from 4-7pm on July 12th. Although the services are not at the funeral home, you may contact the Acton Funeral Home at 978-263-5333 for details concerning the location. Thank you.
