Sending a Clear Message on Drug Abuse

Former Boston Celtic Chris Herren discusses life as an addict, hoping to save others from his struggles.

Former NBA player and Boston Celtic Chris Herren has made it his mission to tell his story of drug addiction to teens around Massachusetts with the hope of preventing what happened to him.

A once blossoming basketball career became derailed due to drug addiction, an addiction he says started with peer pressure while he was attending Boston College.

Acton Patch blogger Angela Zhao attended Herren's lecture recently at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School, and writes about how he tried to be personal with the audience, hoping to reach as many kids possible.
