Acton Police Nab Man in Connection with Carbreak on High Street

The following arrest information was supplied by the Acton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

On 12-4-12 at approximately 8:00 PM the Acton Police Department received a 911 call from a resident of High Street advising she had observed a subject breaking into her vehicle. When approached the subject fled from the vehicle and into the woods. A perimeter was established and a short time later an officer encountered a subject matching the description on Adams Street. The subject indicated he was walking his pit bull but could not provide where he was living or why he was in the area.

Officer Holway with K9 Miso arrived and tracked directly from the victim’s vehicle to the location where the subject had been located. The subject later identified as Joseph F. Monahan, age 26, no permanent address was arrested on the following charges:

  • Breaking and Entering during the Nighttime with the Intent to Commit a Felony
  • Furnishing a False Name to Police
  • Interfering with a Police Investigation

Additionally, Joseph F. Monahan had three outstanding warrants for similar offenses. Monahan was denied bail and will be arraigned at the Concord District Court on 12-5-12.
