Acton Woman Faces Assault and Battery Charge

The following arrest information was supplied by the Acton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Acton Police Department arrested a local woman at her residence on Sept. 23 at 2:11 p.m.

Demaris J. Curtis, 26, of 71 Hosmer St., apt. 27, is charged with assault and battery.

The arresting officer was Jesse Osterhoudt.

In other police news from Sept. 23:

  • A Captain Brown's Lane resident reported his car alarm sounding and thought someone tried to break in to it. Nothing was found when officers arrived.
  • Acton police assisted the Acton Fire Department on a call from Central Street. Smoke was reported coming out of the laundry room. Management was notified about a problem with a dryer.
  • Officers responded to an accident on Route 2 westbound between Horse Barn and Taylor roads. Car was reported off the road and in a ditch.
  • A Windsor Avenue resident reported hearing a loud bang and a yell from an above apartment and thought a woman had fallen. Fire department also responded and the woman was transported to Emerson Hospital..
