Acton Woman Faces Assault and Battery Charge

The following arrest information was supplied by the Acton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A call to the Acton Police Department on Jan. 7 regarding a disturbance on Old Stone Brook resulted in the arrest of a local woman.

At about 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the scene after receiving a report of an intoxicated woman throwing things.

The caller asked to have the woman removed.

After responding officers completed an investigation, Martha Day, 65, of 351 Brown Bear Crossing, was arrested and charged with assault and battery.

The arresting officer was Jonathan Stackhouse.

In other police news from Jan. 7:

  • Town Hall received a threatening voicemail that was left from the previous weekend.
  • A child was reported to have walked out of school. The child was found at Kelley's Corner.
  • A caller reported that the DEP had received an anonymous report of a local business illegally dumping chemicals. The Health Department responded to speak with the business owner.
  • A caller reported hearing what sounded like a "donkey being stabbed" in a barn on School Street. No occupants were home at the barn when responding officers arrived, and there appeared to be to problems.
