Don't Be Fooled: Acton PD Warns of Scam

The alleged scam apparently targets businesses, claiming electrical service will be terminated without payment via pre-paid card.

Businesses, contrary to what a team of sketchy telemarketers may have told you, you're electrical service will not be terminated without payment via a pre-paid card. 

That's according to the Acton Police Department, which has warned of the new scam through electronic alerts and the town website

NSTAR Security is reporting that an organized group has been calling various businesses in the surrounding cities and towns and telling them their electrical service will be terminated today if they do not immediately make a payment.

They have called several Acton businesses today requesting they go to Rite-Aid on Route 62 to purchase a pre-paid card in order to make payment. Please direct any questions to the Acton Police Department at 978-264-9638.
