Local Man Faces Assault Charge in Acton

The following arrest information was supplied by the Acton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A call to the Acton Police Department on July 4 regarding a domestic dispute resulted in the arrest of a local man.

Officers were dispatched to Henley Road at about 7:24 a.m. to investigate the call.

After an investigation was completed, Karl A. Bernhard, 68, of 3 Henley Road, was arrested and charged with assault and battery.

He was scheduled to be arraigned later that day at Concord District Court.

The arresting officer was Christopher Brown.

In other police news from July 4:

  • Officers responded to Massachusetts Avenue for a report of a domestic issue regarding a female and her boyfriend. The female said she got into an argument with him and he threatened her. The suspect then drove off. The female was taken back to the station to make a report.
  • A caller on Great Road reported his sheriff's badge was stolen out of his bag.
  • Officers were dispatched to Quaboag Road for a report of a one-car accident involving a utility pole. There was minor damage but no injuries reported. NSTAR was notified of damage to the pole.
  • A caller on Sachem Way reported she found a 2-year-old child standing in the road. Responding officer found the child's older sister at 6 Sachem Way.
