OMGPD: Trash or Treasure, Cigarette Break-in and More

Our weekly roundup of some of the more unusual police reports from around the Boston area. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Cigarette Break-in

A woman reported on Feb. 26 that someone entered her car and smoked a cigarette inside of it while her vehicle was parked on the second floor of Emerson Hospital’s parking garage on Old Road to Nine Acre Corner in Concord the previous day. The woman said there was no known damage or items taken from the vehicle. http://patch.com/A-20KM

Goodbye World?

A Wayland caller reported that a friend was posting suicidal things on Facebook. Police reported the person was saying goodbye to Facebook, and it was a misunderstanding and he was not suicidal. http://patch.com/A-23NN

Yes, That's Kidnapping

A man from Brooklyn, N.Y., picked up a charge of kidnapping in Watertown after he got into a fight with his girlfriend, pushed her out of the car and drove off with her 3-year-old child in the car. Watertown Police located the man and placed him under arrest for multiple charges. http://patch.com/A-24XH

Trash or Treasure?

A High Street resident in Acton reported items missing from her porch. The responding officer reported no larceny took place. A trash pickup service went to the porch to get her trash. http://patch.com/A-24vH

I find the "Goodbye World" segment of this story in poor taste. Depression and suicide is a very serious issue and depicting a concerned individual as comical shows a lack of both understanding and empathy.
