Police Log: A Hand-Biting Woman and an Arrest for Assault

The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Sept. 14

7:01 a.m. – Police responded to Town House Lane for a report of an older woman yelling somewhere in the building. The responding officer spoke with the reporting party, and there were no problems at the time.

11:23 a.m. – Ananth Mani Sriram, 18, of 33 Heritage Road, Acton, was arrested and charged with assault and battery.

2:44 p.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Ledge Rock Way. The suspicious person in question was spoken to, and told to bike away from kids groups.

3:02 p.m. – Police responded to a report of people in a car “smoking dope” on Main Street heading south on Route 27 away from Kelly’s Corner. Police checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

3:50 p.m. – A Hosmer Street resident reported she was assaulted by her neighbor. Police spoke with everyone involved.

3:59 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Main Street. Two people involved were transported to Emerson Hospital.

6:03 p.m. – Police responded to a report of ATVs riding on water department land on Oak Hill Circle. One of the riders was spoken to, and told ATVs and dirt bikes are not allowed on the property.

6:41 p.m. – Police responded to Hosmer Street for a report of a suspect biting another woman’s hand.

7:30 p.m. – Possible gun shots were reported in the Alcott Street area. Police checked the area and nothing was found.

8:55 p.m. – A Taylor Road resident reported hearing someone walking around in the upstairs of her house. Police walked through the upstairs and nothing was found.

Sunday, Sept. 15

9:22 a.m. – Police responded to an alarm activation on Main Street, which was reportedly set off by birds.

12:32 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a man who may be lost or confused standing near Wetherbee Street looking toward Route 2. The man was gone on arrival.

5:24 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident with minor injuries on Great Road.

7:45 p.m. – Police responded to a Central Street apartment for a reported domestic between sisters. As a result, Ellen J. O’Connor, 55, of Central St., Apt. 2, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a person disabled or aged 60 or older.
