Police Log: A Police Impersonator, Accidents and an Arrest for Assault
The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Saturday, Nov. 30
2:01 a.m. – Police responded to a report of trashcans dumped all over Charter Road between the high school and junior high.
8:10 a.m. – An Assabet Crossing resident reported a man wearing camouflage and carrying a crossbow walked out of her private drive. The responding officer checked the area, but the man was gone on arrival.

8:41 a.m. – Police responded to a reported traffic hazard on Route 2. The Highway Department was called to the scene to remove a giant pile of leaves.
10:37 a.m. – A Willow Street resident called to report suspicious activity in which a man claiming to be an Acton Police officer said he was in the area following up on reports of a Peeping Tom. Police advised the woman there was no APD officer with the name she was given.

12:40 p.m. – Police responded to a reported disabled motor vehicle on Great Road. The responding officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
12:46 p.m. – A Robbins Street resident requested to speak with an officer about damage to her property.
2:09 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a purple Ford Mustang operating erratically on Lothrop Road.
4:23 p.m. – A person came into the station to turn in a child’s ID found on Great Road.
9:37 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated man staggering into traffic on Prospect Street.
Sunday, Dec. 1
6:12 a.m. – Police responded to a report of three horses running in the roadway on Great Road. The responding officer checked the area and left a message for the owner of the ranch.
7:40 a.m. – A motor vehicle accident was reported on Main Street, where a vehicle reportedly slid off of the roadway and broke a front axle. The responding officers shut down the ramp with cones due to the ice.
8:06 a.m. – A vehicle reportedly slid off Pope Road and into a pole. The vehicle was pushed out of the scene.
3:17 p.m. – A caller reported hearing several gunshots in the area of Briar Hill Road. The responding officer reported hearing no gun shots in the area.
7:34 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic on Flagg Road. As a result, Janice B. Riley, 47, of 12 Flagg Road, was arrested for assault.
