Police Log: Arrests for Drugs, Shoplifting and OUI

The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Sept. 9

9:25 a.m. – A 911 hang-up call came in from Squirrel Hill Road.

12:20 p.m. – Police responded to a reported three-car accident on Piper Road.

4:10 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Great Road.

5:13 p.m. – Police responded to Iris Court for a report of a possible child locked in or out of an apartment there. The responding officer made contact with the child, who was sleeping, and there were no issues, according to the log entry.

6:42 p.m. – Officers conducting surveillance in the Nagog Square area arrested two men after observing an alleged cocaine deal. Daniel R. Cavelier, 60, of 5 Sara Doublet Road., Acton, was arrested and charged with possession of a Class B substance and conspiracy  to violate controlled substances laws. And Eduardo Soler, 33, of 158 University Ave., Apt. 1, Lowell, was arrested and charged with distribution of a Class B substance and conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws. 11:39 p.m. – Police responded to an alarm activation on Craig Road. The business checked OK.

Tuesday, Sept. 10

1:58 a.m. – A High Street resident reported his vehicle was stolen. Maynard Police handled the case, because the theft allegedly occurred in their town. The vehicle was later found.

6:25 a.m. – Police responded to Fife and Drum Road for a reported breaking-and-entering to a motor vehicle.

11:24 a.m. – Officers executed a warrant on Strawberry Hill Road. Mark L. Gionet, 40, of 18 E Strawberry Hill Road, Apt. 12, Acton, was arrested and charged with five counts of shoplifting and possession of burglarious tools.

1:52 p.m. – Police responded to the area of Quarry Road for a report of gunshots heard in the area.

8:35 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle accident on Parker Street, Patricia A. Thome, 42, of 85 Hosmer St., Apt. B3, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, marked lanes violation, speeding and operating a motor vehicle so as to endanger.

10:09 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a suspicious blue truck parked behind a Great Road restaurant.
