Police Log: Neighborly Noise Complaints, Reports of Fighting

The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Nov. 18

7:25 a.m. – Police responded to Central Street for a report of a construction sign in the roadway. The responding officer advised the sign was resting on the curbing, and there was a construction crew at a nearby railroad crossing.

8:18 a.m. – A caller reported losing a wallet on Main Street.

8:27 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a Florida license plate stolen on Main Street.

12:26 p.m. – Police took a harassment report on Main Street.

1:48 p.m. – A report of harassment came in from Great Road.

3:45 p.m. – Police responded to an alarm activation on Ledge Rock Way, which was confirmed as accidental by a homeowner.

7:56 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a vehicle all over the road on Summer Street. Boxborough PD was notified as it headed toward their town.

10:57 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a domestic on Maple Street. According to the log entry, there was an episode after a bad phone call, but no other issues involved.

Tuesday, Nov. 19

1:35 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Great Road.

2:45 a.m. – Police responded to a report of loud noises, and possibly fighting, in the area of Sachem Way. The responding officers reported all was quiet at the time.

10:29 a.m. – Police responded to a burglar alarm activation reporting a glass break in the basement on Estabrook Road.

12:34 p.m. – Police responded to Rex Lane for a complaint of damage to vehicles and a request for extra security in the area.

12:36 p.m. – A Jefferson Drive resident reported scam phone calls.

7:18 p.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Wampus Avenue. The responding officer reported there were no issues at the time, just a man moving his things into his apartment.

7:41 p.m. – A call came in from Strawberry Hill Road reporting her neighbors were “banging and hammering” on the floor, keeping her awake.

8:32 p.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Wampus Avenue where someone was allegedly “making strange noises.”

8:43 p.m. – A second complaint came in from Strawberry Hill Road, in which a resident reported her neighbors were banging on the floor and keeping her awake. The responding officer reported it was just regular noise, so there was not much police could do about it as the apartments were not completely soundproof.
