Police Log: Parking Lot Smokers, a Man Arrested for Marijuana

The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Sept. 5

4:41 p.m. – Police responded to Parker Street, for a report of a man walking and talking loudly on his phone. The responders reported the man was just walking home.

9:24 a.m. – Police responded to a report of the sound of a rifle shot in the area of Minuteman Road.

10:34 a.m. – A car reportedly swerved across Mass Ave before turning into a parking lot at Mt. Calvary. The responding officer spoke with the driver, according to the log entry.

2:02 p.m. – An officer on patrol picked up an abandoned bicycle left behind a pump station on Hillcrest Drive.

3:31 p.m. – A Ledge Rock Way resident called with questions regarding dogs.

4:18 p.m. – Police responded to Fernwood Road for a past larceny report.

5:01 p.m. – Police responded to Newtown Road to speak with a man regarding a threatening and harassing report.

6:16 p.m. – A noise complaint came in from School Street.

7:05 p.m. – A caller from Great Road reported a suspicious person in a vehicle appeared to have her foot on the brake and smoking a cigarette in the Trader Joe’s parking lot. Police checked on the vehicle, and the motorist appeared to be OK.

8:08 p.m. – Police responded to Hosmer Street for a report of a vehicle parked in the way of a construction area. The vehicle’s owner was located and moved the car.

9:57 p.m. – Police responded to a marijuana-related issue on Martin Street and, as a result, Michael A. Terranova, 21, of 5 Elmwood St., Maynard, was arrested and charged with possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute.

10:11 p.m. – A Willow Street resident called to report hearing a car alarm going off on Castle Road, which concerned her because of recent break-ins.
